Before leaving, it is always beneficial to ask a trusted friend or a nearby family member to occasionally check up on your home while you are away. Be sure they know what signs to look for to determine if your home has been broken into.
Unplug electronics and appliances
To prevent any potential damage from power surges, unplugging electronic devices that are not being used while you’re away is an excellent idea.
